  • My Brodit Mounts

I've used Brodit mounts for a number of years and several cars now. They have brackets ( ProClips ) for just about every car, often with 2 or 3 different mounting positions and holders for a large number of phones, PDA's, tablets and satnavs with or without charging cables. They're not cheap but I highly recommend them.

There's also a 3rd ProClip available for the DS3 that fits to the 'A' pillar.

I got one form Ebay next to the A/C controls and the other one covered the head unit too much.

The Brodit system comes in 2 parts, the 'Pro Clip' which mounts to the car in various places, there are 3 in total for the DS3, the 2 I have and one that fits the A pillar on the drivers side. Then there is the holder for the device, these are designed to fit any of the 'Pro Clips'. Before I bought the SatNav my phone holder was actually fitted where the SatNav holder now is. You can see how they fix together in the 2nd pic of my original post. I always buy my Brodit stuff from DSL Developments, always found their service very good.

I see how the clip mounts on the dash
How is the phone secured on the clip?

Assume the attachments in your photo Arlow, will be supplied with the clip?

The plate indicated by the red arrow is part of the clip, the plate indicated by the green arrow and the fixing screws circled in green come with the phone holder which you buy separately from the clip.

When it was understood that you had to buy the Brodit clip, then the attachment to the phone to fit onto the clip thought it was getting pricey
So bought a cheap £2.99 thing off ebay which turns 360deg, tilts and expands to fit several size phones, and its pretty good

Only drawback is it seems to only want to fix to glass, and the very small quarterlight on drivers window, is pretty much the only position
But that's where my sat nav goes. So its getting busy that area

I have had Brodit brackets for a long while now
Think they're great! & excellent quality
Presently have them in both our cars

Ye the Brodit mounts although a little expensive are by far the best mounts I have used, really sturdy and good for video recording via a phone

But does it mean that the Brodit plus all the fittings could get to over £30?

Yes it does Chris, but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and that is a quality bit of kit.
